Polyhymnia, an a cappella chamber choir that has charmed Washington area audiences for 19 years, will audition all voice parts for our Fall/Winter "semester" (rehearsal/performance calendar at right). Singers must be technically proficient. Dues are $80. Regular weekly rehearsals are Tuesdays 7:45 PM to 10:00 PM. There also are two extra Thursday rehearsals in the two weeks preceding the first concert weekend. Our Winter performances will occur on the weekends of January 29/30 and February 5/6. Singers must commit to missing no more than three rehearsals and none of the performances. There are no obligations to sell tickets or do fundraising.

To get to the basement, auditioners must enter through the back door. Walk down the driveway to the left of the church. The back entrance will be well lighted.
All auditioners should arrive at 7:45 PM. You need not prepare a song, and you will not be asked to sight-read anything cold. Instead, I will rehearse all of you plus Polyhymnia veterans on a piece of music that no one is likely to have seen before. After I have rehearsed you together for about one-half hour on this piece, we will break the group into quartets that will sing the piece we have just rehearsed. Auditioners get multiple quartet trials with differing singers on the other parts. Every effort is made to help the auditioner put his or her best foot forward.

From the Capitol Beltway:
- Exit Old Georgetown Road southbound, towards Bethesda.
- Proceed about two miles into downtown Bethesda.
- Turn right at the stoplight at Wilson Lane.
- Although the church has a parking lot, you must instead park on the side streets.
- Remember to enter by the back door.
From downtown DC or from East-West Highway:
- From the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue, East-West Highway, and Old Georgetown Road, proceed north on Old Georgetown Road.
- Turn left at Wilson Lane, the third stoplight.
- The church is about a block and a half down on the right.
- Although the church has a parking lot, you must instead park on the side streets.
- Remember to enter by the back door.
From the Bethesda Metro station:
- As you come up the escalator, you will be facing North.
- Proceed north along Old Georgetown Road.
- Turn left at Wilson Lane, the third stoplight.
- The church is about a block and a half down on the right.
